TROIS-RIVIÈRES, August 25, 2026 – Groupe Robin and Mayrand Entrepôt d’Alimentation are holding the official groundbreaking today, marking the start of construction on the future Trois-Rivières store. This important milestone follows the announcement made last July and represents a key step in the banner’s development in Quebec. Building on the strength of Sobeys’ network, one of Canada’s largest food retailers, Mayrand continues its growth by leveraging more than 100 years of Quebec expertise in the food industry.
Scheduled to open in summer 2027, the future store will be located in the heart of District 55, a strategic location that is easily accessible thanks to its proximity to the Laviolette Bridge. It will enable Mayrand to continue its mission of offering a distinctive shopping experience to consumers, foodservice professionals and cooking enthusiasts. Customers will find more than 8,000 quality products in a variety of formats for their grocery needs, including a selection of fresh products, professional-sized formats, ready-to-cook products, kitchenware, unique food discoveries, as well as a selection of natural products and supplements from the Rachelle Béry universe.
The Trois-Rivières location was strategically selected to support Mayrand’s expansion beyond the Greater Montreal area and serve a broader customer base, particularly in the Mauricie and Centre-du-Québec regions. The new store will offer a refreshed shopping experience that brings together the best of two worlds: the efficiency and extensive selection of a food warehouse combined with the warmer, more inspiring atmosphere of a modern neighbourhood market.
Beyond the investment in the region, the project will generate significant economic benefits for Trois-Rivières, with approximately 50 jobs expected to be created when the store opens.
Mayrand’s arrival will also enhance District 55’s commercial offering by introducing a unique concept that meets the needs of households, cooking enthusiasts and businesses throughout the region.
