September 24, 2024 – We have reached a significant milestone with the official opening of our Candlewood Suites® hotel, located in the heart of District 55 in Trois-Rivières. This is the very first Candlewood Suites® -branded hotel in Quebec, a signature project that reinforces our commitment to positioning Trois-Rivières as a must-visit destination for both tourism and business.
Our new hotel stands out with its modern and environmentally friendly architecture, proudly boasting LEED certification. The glulam structure, connecting two establishments, houses the shared reception area and meeting rooms that offer stunning views of the Saint Lawrence River, making it an ideal setting for business events.
With 222 rooms spread across two hotels, Candlewood Suites® and Holiday Inn Express® are now the second-largest establishment in the city. Our rooms, designed as mini-apartments, are perfectly suited for long-term business guests, featuring fully equipped kitchens and dedicated spaces for remote work. Guests can also enjoy a terrace with a barbecue area, which was a big hit this summer.
We are particularly proud of this achievement, the result of strong collaboration with local partners and exceptional teamwork. As Nellie Robin mentioned during her speech, “TOGETHER, we’ve accomplished something great!” This project, a flagship for our group, reflects our ambition to contribute to the region’s economic growth while providing a unique guest experience.
With the opening of Candlewood Suites®, we offer a new multisensory tourist showcase, highlighting the beauty of Trois-Rivières and offering our guests a modern and comfortable stay. We take immense pride in continuing to build the future of hospitality in this vibrant city.
And this is just the beginning! Exciting developments are planned for 2025, including the opening of the Décathlon store, which will further enhance the commercial offerings of District 55.
